MOMiNAR Banner MOMiNAR - April 18, 2012[Post] Event: How to Dress for Your Body

"Style starts with presence, self-confidence and inner-beauty. Bring those things when you walk into a room. They speak to others more than any outfit or accesssory you have on. We start with that, and work from there." -Kim Miller

Lifestyle Consultant, Kim Miller, provided our mamas with an interactive presentation on "How to Dress for Your Body" at the very chic Bliss Boutique on April 18. Mamas got customized advice and had instant shopping gratification thanks to our excellent vendors and our event host, Bliss Boutique. Here are Kim's highlights:

  1. The tailor is your friend: Rarely do we buy an outfit that fits us perfectly off the rack. Having items tailored is worth the investment. Making a statement is not only about what you wear, but how you wear it.
  2. Treat shopping like a date: Spend time getting ready for your shopping trip. Everyone feels better when they are showered and ready. You are more likely to appreciate the way things look on your when you feel good about your appearance.
  3. Wear undergarments: If you are looking for a particular piece, make sure you wear appropriate undergarments when trying things on. A good fitting bra, spanx or underwear can make a big difference in the overall appearance of an outfit on you.
  4. Experiment with trends: Consider trying some new trends, but don't feel like you need to follow everyone of them. Some items simply might not work on you. However, don't let that prevent you from experimenting.
  5. Buy things you love: If you walk out of the store with it and you don't love it, you probably wont wear it. If you find something you love, consider buying it in a few different colors. This is especially true for busy women on the go who don't have a lot of time to shop.
