Shira Nicks - Founder, Chairman of the Board
Shira NicksShira is a full-time stay-at-home mom to three girls Sophie, Taylor and Isabella, all under the age of four. She is also a part-time mom to a stepson, Curran, age twelve. Shira is an Arizona native with a background in Human Resources and graduate coursework in Psychology and Counseling. She is one of four sisters and enjoys family life. She places a high value on charity and opportunities to “give back.” Read Shira's founding story here.
Nancy Hollinger - Fundraising Chair
Nancy HollingerNancy Hollinger is mother of Emily, age four, Isabel, age two, and Jamison, age 14. Nancy attended Arizona State for International Business and Communication. Nancy has 14 years of experience in real estate as branch manager and escrow officer for local title companies, and is now a licensed REALTOR. Nancy is responsible for collecting donations for raffle prizes, overseeing fundraising events to benefit angel mamas, as well as designing and testing resale and promotional items.
Jennifer Kaplan - Volunteers & Events Director
Jennifer KaplanJennifer Kaplan is currently a full-time homemaker and mother to three boys ages three and under. Prior to having children she had 10+ years experience in healthcare and community health and wellness. She graduated ASU with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and worked as a Register Nurse in both the Hospital and Physician private practice setting. Her most recent position was within the Cardiac Diagnostic Unit at Scottsdale Healthcare. She was involved in developing "unit based" policies and procedures as well as procedural organization and implementation within the Unit. Her greatest area of interest is community health and wellness. Jennifer plans volunteer events for both angel mamas and our selected focus charities.
Annie Campbell - Finance Director, Treasurer & Governance Chair
Annie CampbellAnnie Campbell currently works full-time as an analyst and has worked in the financial arena for over six years. She has two daughters, ages five and three. Annie graduated with a degree in finance and a minor in accounting from DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois. She is responsible for the angel mamas budget, AP/AR, year-end financials, obtaining directors & officers and general liability insurance, co-writing the business plan and offering assistance in proofreading and event planning. Annie is also our Facebook administrator.
Laurie Davis - Events Chair
Laurie DavisLaurie Davis works full-time as a marketing, public relations and events coordinator for an Arizona based insurance agency. Prior to her current job, Laurie worked for a public relations and event firm organizing events all over the globe – from Phoenix to Paris and France to the White House lawn. She also spends her time volunteering with various non-profits around the Valley such as the Boys & Girls Club of Metropolitan Phoenix, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Ronald McDonald House and St. Mary’s Food Bank. In 2004, Laurie served on the auxiliary Board of Directors for the Arizona Humane Society. Laurie is expecting her first child in January 2010 and looks forward to the joys of motherhood.
Michelle Jaleeli - Governance Chair
Michelle JaleeliMichelle Jaleeli is currently a part-time stay-at-home mom of two children ages four and two and is a part-time consultant for her accounting firm, Integrated Accounting and Consulting PLC. She has 14 years of accounting experience both in public and private industry. Michelle has volunteered and served as a board member to the Arizona Animal Welfare League. Additionally, she served as the corporate sponsorship coordinator for the League’s largest black tie fundraiser.
Sammy Glassman - Governance Co-Chair
Sammy GlassmanSammy Glassman has a Masters in Social Work and spent more than ten years working in not-for-profit organizations. Most recently, Sammy was the Executive Director for Scottsdale Leadership, Inc. where she managed the finances, core program, community programs, strategic plan/board of directors, development, public relations, alumni relations and staff. Sammy received her license as a residential REALTOR and became a full-time real estate consultant in 2006. Sammy currently works with Arizona Best Real Estate, and is a Certified Negotiation Expert. Sammy and her husband, David, are raising their daughter, Eliana, and son, Jesse, in the Phoenix area.
Tracy Nadler - Membership Chair
Tracy NadlerTracy Nadler has enjoyed being a stay at home mom for the past five years for her daughter Sophia. During this time she worked with Home Base Youth and Lutheran Social Services. She had the honor of training homeless youth and refugees on life and work skills. Previously, she worked for eight years as a trainer for the Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort and Spa. Recently, Tracy rejoined the workforce as a recruiter and trainer for the Arizona Grand resort. Tracy is very excited to be a part of angel mamas as the Director of Membership.
Jennifer Rubin - Nominating Chair
Jennifer RubinJennifer Rubin is currently a full-time attorney and mom of one child, Eric, age three. She has seven years of experience as an attorney working with families and the community.
Patrice Metzler - Sponsor Liaison
Patrice MetzlerPatrice Metzler is currently a stay-at-home mom of two children ages 3 1/2 years and 19 months, as well as the owner of a recently established business called Retail Insight LLC where Patrice is a Retail Analyst for small boutiques in the Phoenix valley. Prior to staying at home, she has 14 years of experience in merchandising, planning, buying, and special events within the retail fashion industry. Her career reflected the responsibility of several multi-million dollar operations. In addition to this, she has experience in outside sales working as an Account Executive for a local magazine, Trends. It is here that Patrice volunteered many additional hours of her time for the Trends Charitable Foundation.
Erin Terjesen - Marketing Chair
Erin TerjesenErin Terjesen is a stay-at-home mother with her 12 month old son, and pursues opportunities to work as a marketing and communications consultant. Erin worked in the Corporate Marketing and Public Relations fields for 12 years in a variety of industries such as fashion/eyewear, pet and lifestyle products, residential construction, and the arts. After moving to Arizona in 2001 from Texas, where she was active in Big Brothers Big Sisters, she helped start Humaniacs, an auxiliary group of the Arizona Humane Society, and served on their Board of Directors as a Volunteer Chair. Erin holds a B.A. in Communication from Trinity University in San Antonio, TX.

Director of Membership

We are seeking an enthusiastic mama to lead our Membership Committee and enhance the experience of our current members, as well as drive our membership base to the next level! Strong communication skills a must! This is a Board of Directors position. Board meetings are once a month.

 
Responsibilities Include:

membership database management, recruitment, membership manual. The committee will also work in conjunction with the Events committee on the Membership Kickoff event and Membership Appreciation event.

 
Approximate Hours:

2-6 hours per week

Director of Communications/Secretary

This position is integral to the structure and communication of our organization, so we are looking for someone willing to donate their time and passions on both the Board and Executive Committee. Board meetings are once a month and Executive meetings are twice a month. Daycare is available for Executive meetings.

 
Responsibilities Include:

agenda preparation and correspondence, record meeting minutes, maintain Governance Book and thank yous.

 
Approximate Hours:

6-10 hours per month
