Shira Nicks, President & Founder

Shira & FamilyShira is a full-time stay-at-home mom to three girls Sophie, Taylor and Isabella. She is also a part-time mom to stepson, Curran. Shira is an Arizona native with a background in Human Resources and graduate coursework in Psychology and Counseling. She is one of four sisters and enjoys family life. She places a high value on charity and opportunities to “give back.” Read Shira's founding story.

Sammy Glassman, Co-Chair

Sammy & ChildrenSammy Glassman is a mother of two – Eliana and Jesse. She and her husband, David, are raising both kids in the Phoenix Area. Sammy is a residential Real Estate Broker with The Williams Real Estate Group/Sunbelt Realty where with every commission earned, Sammy donates a substantial portion of the proceeds to a local charity (i.e. angel mamas). Sammy is a Certified Negotiation Expert, a DRS Agent working with physicians throughout the country and provides elite relocation services. Sammy has a Masters in Social Work and spent more than ten years working in not-for-profit organizations where she managed the finances, core program, community programs, strategic plan/board of directors, development, public relations, alumni relations and staff.

Jordanna Ufberg, Director of Finance

Jordanna & FamilyJordanna Ufberg is a stay-at-home mother to son, Jack and twin daughters, “Charley” (Charlotte) and Ella and wife to her husband, Paul. She enjoys working part-time as a substitute teacher in early childhood education. Jordanna and her family moved to Arizona in July 2009 from Pittsburgh. Jordanna is active at her children’s school and has served on the Parent-Teacher group as the Treasurer. Jordanna holds a B.A. in Marketing from Yeshiva University in New York City and a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Laurie Davis, Director of Events

Laurie & FamilyLaurie Davis works full-time as a marketing, public relations and events coordinator for an Arizona based insurance agency. Prior to her current job, Laurie worked for a public relations and event firm organizing events all over the globe – from Phoenix to Paris and France to the White House lawn. She also spends her time volunteering with various non-profits around the Valley such as the Boys & Girls Club of Metropolitan Phoenix, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Ronald McDonald House and St. Mary’s Food Bank. In 2004, Laurie served on the auxiliary Board of Directors for the Arizona Humane Society. In 2010, Laurie and her husband, Seth, celebrated the birth of their baby boy, Wilder, and are busy enjoying parenthood.

Juliet Burgess, Director of Programs

Juliet & SonJuliet Speisman Burgess is the proud mom to her son, Benjamin Robert ("Ben") and works full-time as an attorney at the Phoenix office of an international law firm. Juliet is in her seventh year of practice and specializes in the areas of commercial litigation and labor/employment law. Juliet grew up in New York and graduated from the University of Arizona with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. Following college, Juliet received her J.D. from American University, Washington College of Law in Washington, D.C. While in D.C., Juliet completed a fellowship for the American Library Association and worked at the Recording Industry Association of America. She is currently on the Advisory Board of the Arizona Chapter of Autism Care and Treatment ("ACT") Today and the Leadership Council for The Wellness Community of Arizona. Her favorite activities include swimming with her husband Todd and son Ben, doing yoga and running.

Tracy Nadler, Director of Nominations/Family Liaison

Tracy & DaughterTracy Nadler is a stay-at-home mom who has volunteered with Home Base Youth and Lutheran Social Services. She had the honor of training homeless youth and refugees on life and work skills. Most recently, she volunteers as an interview trainer/teacher for homeless families at UMOM. Previously, she worked for nine years as a trainer and recruiter for the Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort and Spa and the Arizona Grand Resort.

Jennifer Rubin, Director of Communications

Jennifer & SonJennifer Rubin is currently a full-time attorney and mom of Eric. She has seven years of experience as an attorney working with families and the community.

Erin Terjesen, Director of Marketing

Erin & SonErin Terjesen is a stay-at-home mother (son Tyler and daughter Sydney) and a marketing and communications consultant. Erin worked in the Corporate Marketing and Public Relations fields for 12 years in a variety of industries such as fashion/eyewear, pet and lifestyle products, residential construction, and the arts. After moving to Arizona in 2001 from Texas, where she was active in Big Brothers Big Sisters, she helped start Humaniacs, an auxiliary group of the Arizona Humane Society, and served on their Board of Directors as a Volunteer Chair. Erin holds a B.A. in Communication from Trinity University in San Antonio, TX.
