What is angel mamas?
angel mamas is first and foremost a third-party organization that assists qualified charities in facilitating their fundraising events. We pride ourselves in offering a variety of activities such as social gatherings and workshops that are designed to enhance the lives of women and children throughout the Valley. In addition to raising our children and tending to our busy schedules, we provide an outlet for having fun and giving back. Learn about our current focus charity.
Our Founding Story
Many moms can relate to the daily demands of raising young children. Feeding, diapering, playing, cooking, reading, running errands - one day running into the next and inspiration running low. Shira Nicks felt this "mommy grind," especially after having her second child. Although she felt blessed and was so thankful for her life as a mom, she felt something was missing and that there had to be more fulfillment in life. Then, after watching "Oprah's Big Give" in 2008, the positive energy and enlightenment surrounding the show struck a chord in her that redefined her as a person. There was an epiphany in which she felt compelled to do something.
It was then that Shira harnessed this positive energy into organizing angel mamas' first event - a charity baby shower. It was such a success that she tapped into her community and solicited mothers to join her in the crusade for getting out and helping others. What started as a simple idea has grown into a concrete, fully functioning, philanthropic organization with over 200 active Valley women donating their time and resources toward charitable causes.
Our Moms
angel mamas is based out of Scottsdale, Arizona. We are mothers who come from all over the valley, including Phoenix, Scottsdale, Cave Creek, Glendale and Paradise Valley. We take great pride in raising our families and tending to our busy schedules, and we enjoy taking a break from it all and having some fun and giving back!
